US – Labor Market Conditions Index m/m

The FED’s labor market conditions index moved up to positive territory again after seeing negative scores for the past 2 months. The index posted a 0.7 score for October after September saw a revised -0.1.

 

UK – Halifax HPI m/m

The UK’s house price index managed to increase by 1.4% in October compared to a revised 0.3% in September.

Q3’16 noted a 5.2% increase in housing prices compared to the year before. The average price of a UK home is now £217,411.

 

EU – German Factory Orders m/m

German manufacturing saw 0.6% less new orders placed in September compared to August.

Manufacturing of intermediate goods increased 0.5%, while capital goods decreased 1.6%. Consumer goods increased by 0.5%.

August result was slightly revised from 1.0% initially to a final number of 0.9%.

 

EU – Retail PMI

For a second month in a row the Eurozone retail industry ended with a score below 50, at 48.6 in September, indicating contraction. August saw a score of 49.6.

Germany’s retail growth (51.0), was offset by decreases in France (47.5) and Italy (46.5).

 

EU – Sentix Investor Confidence

Investor confidence for the Eurozone is on its fifth-consecutive month of increase as November reading reports a score of 13.1, the highest score for 2016.

 

EU – Retail Sales m/m

September retail trade fell by 0.2% in both the euro area (EA19) and the EU28, according to estimates from Eurostat. This is the second consecutive month the European retail sales index turned negative.

Compared with September 2015 the retail sales index increased by 1.1% in the euro area and by 2.2% in the EU28.

 

Japan – Average Cash Earnings y/y

Overall cash wages in Japan rose 0.2% compared to the same period last year.

The initial -0.1% in August was revised to a flat 0.0%

 

Australia – AIG Construction Index

The latest performance of construction index(PCI) by the Australian Industry Group fell by 5.5 points to 45.9 in October.

The index has been bouncing above and below the base 50 points since May this year.

 

Australia – ANZ Job Advertisements m/m

Job advertisements in Australia increased by 1.0% in October, after seeing a 0.3% decrease in the previous month.

Annual growth in job ads accelerated to 5.2% in October from 3.8% in September.
