US – FOMC Meeting Minutes

According to the released FED minutes of their November meeting officials saw a strengthening case to raise interest rates as the labor market tightened, with some saying a hike should happen in December.


US – Natural Gas Storage

Natural gas stocks decreased by 2B cubic feet for the week ending November 18, after seeing a big buildup of 30B cubic feet in the previous week.


Canada – Corporate Profits q/q

Canadian corporations earned $80.7B in operating profits in Q3’16, up 14.0% from Q2’16.

The increase was led by a $6.5B gain in profits in finance and insurance industries.

On an annual basis, overall profits for Canadian corporations were down 1.1% compared with Q3’15.


UK – BBA Mortgage Approvals

UK mortgage approvals for October increased to 40.9K, compared to a revised 39.7K in September. This is the third consecutive month that mortgage approvals have increased.


EU – German Ifo Business Climate

Germany’s business climate index remain at a solid 110.4 level in November, the same score as October which was slightly revised downward from 110.5 to 110.4.


EU – German Final GDP q/q

Germany’s final GDP growth rate remained unchanged from its first release on 15-Nov at 0.2%, as reported by the Federal Statistics Office (Destatis).


EU – GfK German Consumer Climate

The overall German consumer climate indicator grew slightly to 9.8 points for the last month of this year, after 9.7 points in November.


Japan – Flash Manufacturing PMI

The Japanese initial manufacturing PMI for November dropped 0.3 points to 51.1, compared to a revised 51.4 in October.
